Summer 2022, I had the privilege of traveling to Italy for some ancestral grounding. Carlotta Mastroianni of ADA invited me out for a month to reside in her mother's apartment in Rome, not too far from the Colosseum. The stay concluded with a solo display of my artwork and a performance in Frosinone. I had also secured a few other gigs DJing and playing my horn in various places throughout the country. But I had a problem. My tenor saxophone was slowly deteriorating under my fingers. Weeks before leaving, I learned that my horn was inoperable and broken beyond reasonable repair. I was in dire need of community support to help fund a replacement. I shared my predicament through social media and other avenues, and you all showed up BIG. For the second time in my life, I was gifted a horn through a collective effort from my community. The funds raised allowed me to buy a refurbished 1950s Martin, and with the help of my dear friend and teacher, Isaiah Collier, I set up the new horn with a proper mouthpiece and ligature and was off to work! In return for this brilliant gift that you all provided me, I'm happy to announce the release of a grouping of improvisational sessions from my Italy travels that I'm offering for free to the general public. Thank you all for the continued love and support. Much gratitude.
